Maybe it’s because I grew up there, but I tend to find that people who have low opinions of Boston generally feel that way because they were unable to survive there. I survive in LA quite easily because I was raised in a city where you had to earn your respect through charm, wit and manners. Also, I’ve found that it’s hard for a lot of people to be in such a dense population of intelligent people. I can imagine that it’s overwhelming for some people to be thrust in to that environment. That’s why I think people have a hard time with Boston, personally. Some people just aren’t made for that kind of fight.
Chicago, despite the cold (hello, LA residents! It’s possible to leave this city for good if you purchase outerwear. I swear to God you won’t miss LA that badly. It’s kind of a shithole where you can make your dreams come true if you happen to be of a profession that requires you be here. I would never recommend this city to anyone not in showbiz) is a fantastic city that’s well-loved by many of the people closest to me. Also, you can be friends with Tyler Coates, I bet.
Boston is the place to be. Trust ME on this one.augustana’s boston and john mayer’s city love make me want to move out of la.
actually, a lot of things make me want to move out of la.
you don’t want to go to boston. trust me on this one.
i was thinking chicago. am i nuts?
Boston is a horrible place to be. It’s the worst place to be, maybe next to Cleveland.
Boston and LA are my two favorite US cities. Portland seems cool, I love Memphis, and I’d like to check out Austin. I grew up in NYC and it doesn’t even make the list. This is largely because I love grocery stores, and you can’t love grocery stores in New York. Or you can, but you’ll end up loving Citarella, and then you’ll be poor, crying into your bisque, resenting your life. Their tangerine juice is A+++, though. Maybe that explains the Blueprint cleanse — actually it doesn’t, because that thing is $1600. Boston it is! Chowdertime!
